UGA Online Gets Major Update with Jason Thrasher’s Photography

What makes Thrasher Photo and Design’s websites look so great, in addition to our clean design, is Jason Thrasher’s Photography.

When the University of Georgia’s Online Learning program tasked us with helping them improve the new website they built in-house, we suggested replacing the various canned departmental portraits or camera-phone selfies previously used to represent the 100+ faculty online, with one clean, unified look– using what Jason likes best: natural light. The challenge was keeping that look consistent across the many departments, each with dozens of online faculty members, and not only that– but meeting each professor to photograph within his or her busy schedule in his or her varied locales- not just on the UGA Campus, but across the state of Georgia. Jason is a people person, and it turned out to be a really fun challenge. Here are just a few of the new UGA Online faculty portraits, by Jason Thrasher:

Jason really wanted to convey the richness of each faculty member’s place of work, whether it be a library, classroom, professional office or even television studio– to allow each professor’s personality to truly shine through. How better to show the richness of the UGA Online faculty and the usefulness of the varied degrees offered, than to show professors out working in the world?

You can see all of the photographs at UGA Online. And be sure to check out all of the great programs on offer– each of them low residency, designed for the working professional or busy parent. We enjoyed getting to know each and every one of the talented teachers.

And Beth Hall Thrasher, of Thrasher Photo and Design, also created a new postcard for the Department of Education utilizing two of the new portraits, and staying true to the website’s look and feel, as well as copywriting for some of the programs’ online profiles. Here’s the front of the COE card featuring Jason’s photos:
