Thrasher Photo and Design in the News

Thrasher Photo and Design has been featured in the media lately, so we thought we’d share a few of the recent publications with you.

Jason Thrasher’s photo studio, Thrasher Photo and Design, was named Favorite Photography Studio in Flagpole Magazine’s readers choice awards. We are really grateful to the Athens community for choosing us as one of Athens Favorite Services in the 2016 Flagpole Readers’ Picks. Thank you, Athens!!

Jason’s photography of Andrew Davis, winner of the Contintental Tire SportsCar Challenge at Road Atlanta, was featured on the most recent cover of the Terry College of Business Magazine. Jason had a great time hanging out at Road Atlanta with Andrew, and we’ll be featuring more photos from that shoot on 0ur Thrasher Photo and Design Facebook page, soon.

His photographs of famed Athenian, Ort (this photo Jason made helped raise enough money at an online fundraiser to get Ort’s yard cleaned up and get his fines paid!)

as well as this image of W. Cullen Hart’s music studio from Jason’s Athens Potluck series now on view at the Georgia Theatre Gallery in downtown Athens.

Beth Hall Thrasher wrote the accompanying stories for the two photographs, which she had the chance to read at Avid Books in celebration of the new Georgia Music Issue with Oxford American editor Maxwell George, plus Shade singer Phelan La Velle, Pylon bassist Michael Lachowski, and artist Art Rosenbaum, among others. It was a fun night in the Fire Hall, sponsored by our favorite bookstore, Avid Books.

And if you didn’t already read this story, Jason also photographed the centerpiece for the new Georgia Tourism Guide’s Year of Georgia Music publication for which there were 700,000 copies printed.
